– The Photo Booth: If you’re looking to spice up your reception with a fun and engaging element, the Photo Booth will do just that! Instead of small printed copies of each photo which are quickly lost, the Photo Booth takes high resolution photos and simultaneously projects them on to the backdrop as well as sending them wirelessly to an iPad where your guests can view their photos and email them to themselves! If you have any questions at all please feel free to Contact Us!
We want our website to make things as easy as possible for you so we’ve compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions for you to look over. If you have anything else you’d like to know please don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll be in touch within 24 hours.
What is your style?
This is probably out most frequently asked question, so we wrote an article that not only explains my style, but gives you a quick rundown of many of the popular wedding photography styles as well. Check is out HERE.
How long before my wedding should we book you?
This depends on your wedding date. If you’re getting married in the peak months of May or October we recommend getting in touch between 12 and 18 months and for spring and fall we recommend between 10 and 12 months. For all other dates we recommend getting in touch no later than 6 months out. Keep in mind though that there is no guarantee your date will be open no matter how early you get in touch.
Can you provide us with references?
Absolutely, get in touch and we will be happy to send over a list of past clients for you to speak with.
Who are your second photographers?
We have a number of photographers that we choose from based on availability. All photographers that we use have been personally trained by Nicholas Gore to make sure you get the best photos possible on your wedding day!
Do you work off of a shot list? Can we give you a shot list?
While we do not work off of a specific shot list, you’re welcome to let us know if there are any specific shots you’d like for us to take during the course of your day!
Do you deliver in Black and White or Color?
We deliver the majority of our images in color but we often use black and white if it enhances the photo.
What gear do you use?
We use top of the line Sony cameras along with Profoto lights. We also have backups of all of our gear.
How long have you been a wedding photographer?
I worked as an assistant for several years before I shot my first solo wedding in 2010.
How many weddings have you photographed?
Our team photographs between 60 and 80 weddings per year. As of 2019 we’ve photographed over 400 weddings.
Can you recommend any other vendors?
Absolutely, we have worked with some really amazing people over the last few years so we’d be happy to give you recommendations!
Do you have insurance?
Who will shoot my wedding if you are sick?
I would have to be in the hospital, physically restrained to back out of shooting a wedding. We take our commitment to being there for you on your wedding day extremely seriously, but if the unthinkable did happen I have a team of photographers who work with me and one would step in to shoot your wedding. It has never happened and hopefully it never will, but on the off chance that it does, we’re prepared for it.
How many other events will you do on my wedding day? That weekend?
We will only shoot one event on your wedding day. For your wedding day you are our primary focus! We do our best not to book more than 2 weddings in a row, but during peak seasons that can be extended to 3.
Will there be a contract?
Definitely! You can see a blank copy of my contract HERE.
How much editing/retouching do you do?
We edit every single image that we deliver for contract, exposure, saturation, white balance etc. and usually the portraits get a more intensive edit but we usually do not do any intensive beauty retouching. That said, I tell all of my brides that if they show up on their wedding date with a giant zit that we will of course remove it!
What happens if we need you for longer on the wedding day?
Despite everyone’s best intentions wedding days usually run behind schedule. Don’t stress though! If you need us to stay for an extra 15-20 minutes we’ll be happy to get whatever last minute shots you need. You’re welcome to add any number of hours during your wedding day, we just ask that you pay the balance before the end of the night.
What do you wear?
We tend to shy away from the black on black look and instead try to blend in more with the crowd. I generally wear dark slacks and a white or blue button down shirt on wedding days.
Do you have more work to show us? Can we see a full wedding?
Absolutely! If you’ve already gone through our portfolio and blog feel free to get in touch and we’ll send over a full wedding! Let us know where your wedding will be held and we will probably be able to show you a wedding from your chosen venue!
How soon do we receive our images?
We deliver wedding images in 6 to 8 weeks and albums in 1-2 once you’ve made your favorites list.
Are there any additional fees after the wedding?
Absolutely not. There are things that you CAN buy after the wedding but when you book a package with Nicholas Gore Weddings you’re buying the coverage on the wedding date and then access to the full resolution final images! There’s no need to spend a penny afterwards unless you want to.
First off, let me say congrats on your engagement! It’s definitely an exciting time for you and your fiance so we try and make everything as simple as possible so you can get back to celebrating!

I live and work in Charleston, South Carolina but waive all travel costs between Myrtle Beach, SC, Columbia, SC and Savannah, GA. However I regularly travel to New Zealand and am available both nationally and internationally.
I am a wedding photographer in Charleston, South Carolina. I have also been lucky enough to be selected as a contributor to one of the world’s largest photograph websites www.Fstoppers.com. It’s an amazing way for me to give back to the online communities that taught me so much when I was first starting.
I spent my high school and college years with a camera glued to my hip, but it never crossed my mind to actually try and be a photographer. In the middle of trying to figure out what I wanted to do with the rest of my life however, a friend of mine called me in a bit of a panic asking if I was available to assist on a wedding in town the next day. I’d never shot a wedding before, but my friend seemed to think that I would be good at it, so I agreed.
I won’t say that my first wedding changed my life, but it gave me a completely new perspective on the job of a wedding photographer. Not only was the fast paced atmosphere exciting, and the ability to be there for some of the most important moments in a person’s life deeply moving, but it was also so much fun!
From that point on, I assisted and shot weddings as often as I could, and now nearly 10 years later, I’ve photographed over 300 weddings and worked with some truly amazing people! I can honestly say that if I won the lottery tomorrow, I wouldn’t change my job, I would probably have many, many more cameras and every lens ever made, but it wouldn’t change my love for doing what I do.
My goal is to pass the fun and enjoyment that I get out of capturing my clients’ happiest moments on to my clients. If my clients are having fun, and I’m having fun, there’s no way that can’t be expressed through my work!
My style is bold, colorful, elegant and relaxed.
My name is Nicholas Gore and I am a Charleston, South Carolina wedding photographer because it’s the best job on earth!
I look forward to the opportunity to create something beautiful for you and your family to cherish for years to come. Contact Nicholas Gore Weddings today!
A wedding planner might seem like just another wedding expense, but in reality, your wedding planner can make you day so much better and really cut the amount of stress you deal with in both the planning process and on your big day.
Our friend Meagan over at Stella Jane Events just put together an awesome list of 5 real reasons why you need a wedding planner! Check them out below:
1.) Want To Talk Over Ideas? Your Planner Can Give You Informed Advice
A planner can be a sounding board for you. Wedding planning is not an easy task, especially for the bride. You have a lot of family and friends that want to be involved and let you know what they think and what you should do. I do think you should be polite and listen to what they have to say. But you can always tell them, “Well let me ask my planner what I should do.” I always tell my brides to call me if they need to vent about the planning process. Even when you have a planner doing most of the work you can still experience stress during your wedding. I like to think that I am there for my brides when they need to talk about things to a neutral party.
2.) Planners Can Help You Get The Most For Your Money
The wedding market is very competitive and so is the pricing. Weddings can get out of control when it comes to what you have to pay. I get asked a lot if I get a discount with certain vendors. I don’t but I do let my brides know that I sometimes can help get things that might have been overlooked. I have had a flower crisis where the glass centerpieces were blowing off the table since the wind had picked up that afternoon. Just goes to show that you never know what can happen at an outdoor wedding. Luckily having worked with the florist multiple times and having a good relationship with them I was able to have them bring me centerpiece vases that would work and we were able to change them out before anyone noticed.
3.) Planners Can Help You Narrow Down Your Ideas
Narrow in your vision and give you new ideas. Pinterest is a great tool for wedding ideas but it can also be overwhelming. You start to want to incorporate every idea you see. I am all about the details but I do think that you can start to have too many ideas and things can look jumbled. A planner can send you pins that fit your theme and budget. They can keep track of your original vision and let you know what details to focus on and that will be noticed by your guests.
4.) Planners Can Help You Find Vendors You May Not Know About
Up and coming vendors. As a wedding planner I am always interested in new vendors, meeting them and getting their story. Without a planner you are limited to websites to find your vendors or by word of mouth. I am always trying to meet people that are good at what they do and are trying to make a name for themselves in the area.
5.) Planners Can Help Plan So Much More Than Just Your Wedding Day
Planners can help you plan more than the day. Weddings now have evolved into entire weekends and sometimes vacations for guests. As the hosting couple you want to let them know what there is to do when there are there. This is where a wedding website is very important. I love helping with the wedding website and adding the best spots in town to visit. I am always there for my brides with recommends for them. Even if it is from the simplest thing like my favorite nail salon to where to have the rehearsal dinner.
